How it works

T8 Workforce can be used in numerous ways to benefit your company but it all has the same key basic functionality.

Hardware

A black box is installed in the vehicle which sends a continuous stream of data to the central database for analysis by speed, location, wait times whatever you choose.  The data is held centrally and accessed via a web-based reporting tool.

The units are installed by professional engineers and so cannot be tampered with or interfered and contain several key components:

  • Mobile phone SIM card for communication
  • GPS capability for locational data
  • Accelerometer measures the movement of the vehicle – acceleration, braking, angle of vehicle etc.
  • Driver tags – to complete the system, the driver carries an independent tag (like a credit card) which communicates with the unit.

Software

Stolen vehicle tracking (SVT)

This is typically not available in the fleet market but at T8 we feel that it is an important option for owners/managers. SVT gives standard vehicle tracking and recovery functionality. All our units are Thatcham Category 5 certified (the highest grade available) and therefore you can be confident of a higher level of response by the police.

Accident Management Response (AMR)

In the case of an accident, it will be immediately flagged at the Support Centre and a response will be arranged through the local police. Greatly improving the speed of response by the emergency services and could be the difference between life and death in a serious accident.

eCall Compliance

At T8 we strive to help our customers be at the fore of legislative directives and are therefore looking ahead at what may affect the markets we work with. eCall is the EU directive to introduce a continent-wide system that will allow all drivers to receive SVT & AMR wherever they are. This is planned for 2010 and will apply to all new vehicles. Currently this is mainly aimed at the consumer market but undoubtedly it will apply to the commercial market – T8 can help you stay ahead.

Management Console

The heart of the fleet system provides a range of interactive analyses of activities to help businesses to save money; time; increase productivity; maintain customer service; enhance security and tracking; improve fleet efficiency and fundamentally give the fleet manager or business owner better control and visibility of the fleet and workforce at any time.
