Fleet managers already need to provide documentation relating to such matters as private vehicle use, which the tax authorities may require. In addition, there is also increasing focus on the need for business owners to demonstrate a Duty-of-Care for their employees and to be covered for their responsibilities.
From April 2008, the new Corporate Manslaughter and Corporate Homicide Act 2007 will come into force whereby the actions of senior management below director level could still be deemed to be the actions of the organisation - increasing the need to be constantly alert to all possible risks.
